Rachael joined Building Blocks in March of 2002, while the organization was very small and still quite young. Rachael says, “Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to work with children and make a difference in the world through the lives of children. My favorite part of this job is being able to help children grow in their ‘forever homes’.” For most of her tenure with Building Blocks she has been at the helm of the day-to-day operations and says, “We have a great group of employees who make it easy to come to work every day.”
Rachael has always been involved in improving the lives of children and families in one way or another. She first obtained her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood from Central Community College. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling from the International Bible College and Seminary. She excelled academically throughout her formal education receiving recognition such as scholarships, Dean’s list, and Presidential Scholar lists. She didn’t stop there because she excelled in applying her education in her work and has been recognized professionally with Certificates of Achievement in Early Childhood, Professional Nanny, Volunteer of the Year Award, and Employee of the Month several times. She has spent time working in group homes, shelters, day reporting programs, family support, visitation, electronic monitoring, and tracking.
Rachael and her husband Seth live in the O’Neill area and have 2 daughters. They are active in their community through coaching, church activities, and volunteering for various school and community activities. In their spare time they enjoy playing and watching sports, gardening, yard work, water sports and vacationing with family.
