Foster Families, Biological Parents, and even biological siblings of youth in care joined at the Pawnee Plunge in Columbus for an afternoon of fun.  One foster parent commented, "My foster son hasn't seen his sister in over 3 months and I'm so glad they could spend time together today."  Building Blocks invites foster and biological families, families of soldiers, and all staff to its events.

Building Blocks for Community Enrichment, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 because we saw children separated from their biological families by hundreds of miles simply because there were few foster homes in our area.  Our goal is to recruit persons to establish foster homes in this part of the state, helping make foster parents successful by providing them thorough training and daily support.

At Building Blocks for Community Enrichment we work with biological parents, children, and foster parents to provide our children a safe and stable environment.  Our ultimate goal is reunification, consequently foster parents work closely with our treatment staff towards this goal.

Each Month, Building Blocks plans respite activities for Foster Families, staff, and Board Members.  October's activity took place at the Haskin Homestead near Royal, Nebraska.  Nearly 25 children came in costumes of black cats, cheerleaders, cowgirls, skeletons, and more hoping to get some treats and have some fun.  Count Royal, also known as Dick Haskins, Business Manager for the Counseling and Enrichment Center, put on the 3rd annual event at his homestead.  Thanks to everybody who attended.
